Without the supplemental niacin, goslings can develop serious leg and joint disorders, often decreasing their lifespan. If waterfowl starter is unavailable, chick starter can be used on the condition that it must be supplemented with additional niacin and must be unmedicated. For recommendations regarding specific brands of food to feed goslings at various ages, you can check out Majestic Waterfowl Sanctuary’s recommendations here. There are conflicting recommendations regarding how much protein goslings need at different stages of growth, and much of the available information pertains to raising geese in production settings, but starting with 20% protein for at least their first four weeks of life is a common practice. Ideally, goslings should eat a waterfowl starter food (or a duckling starter food). If they are with their mother, you should not separate the two unless absolutely necessary, such as if one of them has a communicable illness or needs extra space to recover from a health issue. The gosling A young goose should receive all location and age-appropriate vaccinations (be sure to talk to your veterinarian about which vaccines, if any, are appropriate for your goose residents), and they should be evaluated for any health issues. When a new gosling finds their way to your sanctuary, it’s critical to follow appropriate intake and quarantine guidelines in order to protect your new resident and the existing flock. Depending on how old they are when they enter your care and whether they have had or continue to have access to their mother, goslings have diverse needs when it comes to health, nutrition, and socialization. Very young geese (also known as goslings) have their own special care needs to help them reach adulthood in good health and comfort. by a member of The Open Sanctuary Project’s staff as of April 14, 2022

This reply was modified 2 years, 8 months ago by rQ. Loading basically almost every other font helps with page speed (at least on my end) while loading the Inter font seems to slow the page down. so I guess there might be something off maybe with the rendering of the Inter font itself which might be slowing down page speeds. I do not think loading a web font should have such a big impact on the website, not even if it is a google web font. I cannot really explain why this happens but I can verify it worked for me. Wp_enqueue_style('biws-google-fonts', '', false) Īdd_action('wp_enqueue_scripts', 'biws_add_google_fonts') Īnd the corresponding style.css contains the following codeįont-family: "Roboto", -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, sans-serif !important Įven though I hate the !important definitions and I did not remove the definition form the twentytwenty style.css my loading times improved quite a lot. On the other hand it would be “better” to enqueue the font using the wp_enqueue_style function to allow users to overwrite this and avoid loading the font with a simple functions.php I created a child theme enqueueing e.g. I totally agree on the point about 3.5s not being that bad.
